Program error on start-up

Issue

The program error on start-up, when using sixteen or more CPU cores.

Solution

The hair and fur plugin can't cope if there are more than 16 cores in the machine.

Workarounds for previous version of 3ds Max:

Disable hyperthreading (which will work as long as it reduces the number of threads below 17),

Remove the hair and fur plugin: from mental ray shaders remove the file 3dsmaxhair.dll and from stdplugs remove hair.dlo.
